The Green Screen

Viva La Dirt League extend local industry offering with Auckland's largest permanent green screen.

With over 5.5million YouTube subscribers and an excess of 2.4 billion streams on their channel, Viva La Dirt League have increased their presence in Aotearoa with the launch of VLDL Studios, a permanent studio lot including Auckland’s largest permanent green screen location, suitable for short films, photo shoots and second unit photography.

The 950m2 lot based located in Henderson in West Auckland will serve as home base for the team with permanent sets for the groups hit online series ‘Bored’, ‘Epic NPC Man’ and their hugely popular Dungeons & Dragon YouTube Channel and was crowded funded via an epic three week Kickstarter campaign with the trio raising over USD $2.5 million dollars (NZD $4 million) to complete the studio lot.

Featured in the lot ‘The Green Screen at VLDL Studios’, a 10m x 11m x 6m high fully soundproof video and stills pre- lit green screen studio which is now available for hire to the wider industry. Perfect for stills, visual effect, second unit photography, stunt space and EPK, the space includes 3 phase power, a scissor lift and dedicated wardrobe, kitchenette and make up facility as well as allocated car parking. The studio space is available for full and half day hires with expressions of interest and bookings open now by contacting bookings@thegreenscreen.co.nz

Founded by Rowan Bettjeman and Alan Morrison in 2011, with Adam King joining in 2015, the trio are thrilled to have established a permanent local base and are excited to be able to open the doors to other productions to utilise this much needed facility.

"The studio is a game-changer for VLDL, helping us level up big time,” say the VLDL founders. “Having the whole team under one roof, working towards our awesome future, feels incredible. Our fans have been amazingly generous, not only by opening their wallets, but actively cheering us on as we grow our channel and business. VLDL Studios and The Green Screen will plug a major gap in New Zealand's screen industry, adding to the amazing roster of much needed studio space."
