Your Voice in NZTECHO
Hi all,
And welcome to NZTECHO #97. It's a great issue, and I'm very happy to be writing this at the end of the process of pulling it all together. All I have to do now is sit back and see what Jason makes of it—and how stunning it will all look when he has worked his magic.
But, this is your magazine. All we do here is edit it, assemble it and make it look great. The contents are from you, and for you. So this is a call out for articles and pieces, from everyone in the Guild.
Everyone on set, in an office, behind the scenes or working in post-production has a story to tell and something they want to discuss with their peers. It could be a safety concern, an opinion about the direction the industry or the Guild is taking, or an idea for how we can make our industry an even better place to work.
We want to read those pieces. We know the industry is frighteningly quiet at the moment, and we all know the perfect storm of circumstances that have caused this. But if you find yourself with free time and want to contribute, drop me a line. I will discuss any idea for an article with you and even help you write it, if you want me to.
Photo essays are also happily accepted!
In this issue, you'll find all of our usual valued contributors, plus a piece from Mladen at the NZIFF, who is stepping down after taking the wheel at very short notice last year, and who has done a terrific job. There's also a great reminder of the work that Queenstown Cameras do in their beautiful rohe and another great Newbie to welcome to the Guild.
Enjoy the magazine. And just think how much better it could be with a piece from YOU in it next time.
All best, love your work,
GT and Jase
